Rugged 14 for field work

The Dell Latitude 5424 is a 14.0-inch FHD non-touch laptop built to military-grade durability standards for harsh environments. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 6MB cache and speeds up to 3.60 GHz. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visual output on the 1920 x 1080 display. The system includes 8GB DDR4 memory and a dual SSD configuration totalling 256GB plus 2TB storage.

Ports and wireless to verify

Check that your peripherals match the available connections: USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C, one HDMI, one DisplayPort, one serial port and an RJ-45 jack. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; the supplier notes LTE 4G and dedicated GPS options may not be included. The display is a non-touch panel with high brightness for direct sunlight viewing. An internal 6- or 9-cell battery provides power with optional hot-swap bridge battery support.

Chassis built for rough handling

The ruggedised chassis uses specialised materials and construction qualified through test-to-failure methodology for high-cycle performance. A Dell OEM charger is included in the box. The toughened direct-view screen resists glare and remains readable outdoors. Multiple USB 3.0 ports and legacy serial connectivity support industrial or field accessories. Hot-swap battery capability allows continuous operation without shutting down.
