Latitude 5590 14.0" FHD Business Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch Full HD business ultrabook powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor. It comes with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive configuration pairing a 128 GB M.2 SSD with a 2 TB secondary SSD. Windows 11 Pro is installed and ready for deployment.

Suits mobile professionals needing high RAM

This configuration suits users who run multiple business applications, virtual machines or large datasets simultaneously and need both fast boot speeds and high local capacity. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card for CAD, rendering or gaming should look at a different system. Users requiring a touchscreen or a lighter sub-3 lb chassis will not find those features here.

32 GB DDR4 soldered memory decides upgrade path

The 32 GB DDR4 memory is the key specification because it cannot be increased after purchase. If your workload demands more than 32 GB of RAM, this unit will not meet that requirement. The dual SSD layout provides 128 GB plus 2 TB of storage, but the memory ceiling is fixed at the factory level.

Questions about this item

How quiet does the Intel Core i5-8350U run during an all-day workload?

The quad-core i5-8350U operates at a 1.70 GHz base speed and can boost to 3.60 GHz, so typical office tasks keep the cooling fan at low RPM and the chassis near room temperature.

Which cables and peripherals must I already have to use the USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C DisplayPort output?

You need a USB-C to DisplayPort cable or a USB-C dock that carries DisplayPort alt-mode; the port does not supply Thunderbolt unless the optional Thunderbolt variant is fitted.

Will the VGA and HDMI ports drive a legacy 1080p monitor without adapters?

Yes — the built-in HDMI and VGA connectors both support 1920 x 1080 resolution, so older displays plug in directly.
