Target device

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6 inch Full HD business laptop running Windows 10 Pro. It uses an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS non-touch display.

Who this suits

This configuration suits office workers who need a durable 14.8 by 9.87 inch chassis with HDMI, VGA, RJ45, USB 3.1 Gen1, USB-C DisplayPort and an SD slot. Buyers who want a dedicated GPU, a touchscreen panel, Thunderbolt 3 certification or Wi-Fi 4 speeds beyond the fitted module should look at something else.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the 512 GB SSD paired with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, because the platform maxes out at 32 GB and offers no second drive bay for expansion.
