Business ultrabook for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 5590 delivers an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 32 GB of DDR4 memory. A 15.6 inch Full HD IPS touchscreen provides 1920 by 1080 resolution for clear visuals. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the 128 GB SSD. The lightweight chassis weighs 4.19 lbs for easy transport.

Integrated graphics and port selection

Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual output without a discrete GPU. Video connects through HDMI and DisplayPort over USB Type-C with optional Thunderbolt support. Three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports include one PowerShare port for charging devices. Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth, VGA and an SD card reader complete the I/O.

Memory headroom versus storage limits

The 32 GB DDR4 configuration handles heavy multitasking and large datasets comfortably. The 128 GB SSD offers fast boot and application load times but fills quickly with media libraries or virtual machines. Buyers who need more local capacity should plan for external drives or cloud storage. The soldered memory cannot be upgraded later.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32 GB DDR4 RAM and 128 GB SSD version or look for a larger drive?

The 32 GB DDR4 RAM handles heavy multitasking and virtual machines, while the 128 GB SSD covers the OS and core apps; if you store large media libraries locally, a higher-capacity drive would be needed.

What does the i7-8650U at 1.9 GHz with 8 MB cache deliver in daily work?

Four cores and eight threads boost to 4.20 GHz, so office suites, browser tabs and light creative tools run smoothly; sustained loads will sit at lower clocks to manage heat.

How does the USB 3.1 Gen1 and USB-C DisplayPort mix limit external displays?

Three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one PowerShare) handle 5 Gbps data; the USB-C port carries DisplayPort video, so you can drive one external monitor plus accessories simultaneously.
