Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0-inch touchscreen ultrabook running Windows 10 Pro. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 8 MB L2 cache and 8 GB DDR4 memory handles everyday business workloads. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS panel. A 128 GB SSD provides the boot drive.

Step up from dual-core ultraportables

Replacing a dual-core system with this quad-core CPU adds four threads and a 4.20 GHz turbo boost for heavier multitasking. The 128 GB SSD replaces a hard drive for faster boot and application launch. The jump is worth it when you regularly run multiple office apps, browser tabs and video calls at once. Buyers who want more storage or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Sustained office workloads

Under continuous load the U-series processor manages thermals inside the thin chassis by adjusting clock speeds. The integrated GPU shares system memory, so extended 1080p video playback or light rendering stays smooth without a discrete card. Fan noise rises during long compile or export tasks but remains typical for a 4.19 lb business laptop. Battery life varies with screen brightness and wireless use.
