The Dell Latitude 5590 arrives with Windows 11 Pro installed and an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor running at 1.7 GHz. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SSD provide a responsive baseline for office applications and web-based workflows. The 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input.

Ports and wireless that shape daily use

Three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports include one with PowerShare for charging devices while the laptop sleeps. A USB-C connector carries DisplayPort video, HDMI and VGA drive external monitors, and RJ45 gives wired network access. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth handle wireless peripherals, while an SD slot and optional SIM tray support field work.

Compact chassis built for mobility

The black magnesium-alloy frame measures 14.8 inches wide, 9.87 inches deep and 0.9 inch high at the front, weighing 4.19 lbs. A Noble wedge lock slot secures the device in shared spaces. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks without a discrete GPU. The 14.0-inch screen spec noted in some data refers to a different Latitude model.

Questions about this item

The system ships with 8 GB DDR4 and supports up to 32 GB, so additional modules can be installed when needed.

What thermal limit appears first during long workloads on the i5-8350U?

The quad-core i5-8350U reaches its 3.60 GHz turbo ceiling, then throttles to stay within its 15 W envelope.

How loud and hot does the 15.6 inch chassis get under all-day load?

The thin 0.9 inch profile relies on a single fan; sustained use raises keyboard deck temperature and fan noise noticeably.
