Latitude 5590 15.6" Touch Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6-inch touchscreen ultrabook built for professionals who need a durable, portable Windows 11 Pro machine. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SSD. The 1920 x 1080 IPS display supports touch input for direct interaction. This configuration suits mobile workers and office users who value a responsive screen and ample RAM for multitasking. It is not for buyers who want a discrete graphics card or more internal storage capacity.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system memory and keeps heat output modest during typical office workloads such as document editing, web browsing and video playback. The quad-core CPU operates at a base frequency of 1.7 GHz and can reach 3.6 GHz under load, drawing power within the ultrabook-class envelope. Fan activity remains low during light tasks and increases only when sustained processing is required. The chassis design manages thermal output without aggressive cooling noise in normal conditions.

Ports connectivity and Windows 11 Pro

Connectivity includes three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one with PowerShare for charging devices while the laptop sleeps, and a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort output for external monitors. Additional interfaces comprise HDMI, VGA, RJ45 Ethernet, an SD card reader, an audio combo jack and an optional SIM tray. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth provide wireless links. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed, delivering business-oriented management and security features such as BitLocker and remote desktop support.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 32 GB DDR4 RAM, and which step do people often get wrong?

The 32 GB DDR4 is already installed; if you ever replace it, the common mistake is not seating both SO-DIMM modules fully into the slots until the side clips click.

What maintenance or replacement will the 128 GB SSD need later?

The 128 GB SSD has no moving parts, so it requires no routine maintenance; replacement is only needed if capacity runs out or the drive fails.

What limit appears first on the i5-8350U during sustained heavy workloads?

The quad-core i5-8350U will hit its thermal ceiling and reduce clock speeds before any other component becomes a bottleneck.
