Built for harsh environments

The DELL Latitude Rugged 5424 is a 14.0-inch notebook designed to withstand tough conditions with military-grade testing. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 6MB cache and speeds up to 3.60 GHz. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1920 x 1080 FHD touchscreen display.

Dual storage and connectivity

A 512GB M.2 drive pairs with a 1TB M.2 drive for combined capacity and redundancy. Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visual output through HDMI and DisplayPort ports. The chassis provides USB 3.0, USB Type C, Serial and RJ-45 connections for field peripherals.

Questions about this item

What maintenance or replacement will the dual 512GB and 1TB M.2 SSDs need later?

Both M.2 solid-state drives have no moving parts, so routine maintenance is not required; replacement is only necessary if a drive fails or you need more capacity.

What limit shows up first under sustained use on the Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor?

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system memory and thermal budget with the CPU, so graphics-intensive workloads will hit thermal throttling before the processor cores reach their 3.60 GHz maximum.

How much noise, heat or power does the 14.0-inch FHD touchscreen produce when running all day?

The display backlight draws the most power and generates the most heat during continuous operation; fan noise increases only when the CPU or GPU load raises chassis temperature.
