Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation with a UHD touch display. It runs on an 8th Generation Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor paired with NVIDIA Quadro P2000 dedicated graphics. The system includes 16 GB DDR4 memory and dual storage totalling 3 TB. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Professionals needing ISV-certified graphics

Creative professionals and engineers who require certified drivers for CAD, DCC or visualization applications will benefit from the Quadro P2000 with 4 GB GDDR5 memory. The Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 ports support external displays and high-speed peripherals. Buyers who need more than 16 GB memory or a newer processor architecture should consider other configurations.

3840 x 2160 touch display

The 15.6 inch IPS panel delivers 3840 x 2160 resolution with touch input and 72 percent color gamut coverage. This specification determines whether the screen meets colour-accurate workflow requirements. The InfinityEdge design reduces bezel width for a more compact chassis.

Questions about this item

How does the i9-8950HK's 4.80 GHz turbo speed perform under sustained workloads in this chassis?

The six-core processor reaches 4.80 GHz with Turbo Boost, but the dual-fan cooling system manages thermals so clocks stay high during long renders or simulations.

What does the Thunderbolt 3 port actually deliver for external displays and storage?

The port provides four lanes of PCIe bandwidth plus DisplayPort video, so you can drive a 4K monitor at 60 Hz and attach NVME storage at full speed.

Will the 15.6" UHD touch panel fit a standard Precision 5530 service cover if I need to replace it?

Yes, the 3840 x 2160 IPS touch assembly is built for the 5530 chassis and uses the same mounting points as the non-touch panel.
