Precision 5530 UHD mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation with a UHD 3840 x 2160 IPS touchscreen. An 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor reaches 4.80 GHz with Turbo Boost. NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics provide 4GB GDDR5 video memory. Storage combines a 512 GB M.2 drive with a 4TB SSD and 16 GB DDR4 RAM. Windows 10 Pro is installed.

Suited for colour-critical creative workflows

The 72% colour gamut panel and Quadro P2000 suit designers and engineers who need accurate colour and certified drivers. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 handle external displays and fast peripherals. Buyers who want more storage or a higher refresh-rate screen should look at something else. The fixed 16 GB memory limits users who regularly exceed that capacity.

Straightforward setup with thermal awareness

Windows 10 Pro boots to a ready desktop; the included AC adapter powers the system immediately. Dual fans manage the i9-8950HK and Quadro P2000 heat load, though sustained heavy renders can push temperatures up. The M.2 slot and 2.5-inch bay are accessible after removing the base cover for future storage changes. Thunderbolt 3 docks simplify single-cable desk connections.

Questions about this item

Does this laptop have a Thunderbolt 3 port for my existing dock?

Yes, the Precision 5530 includes one Thunderbolt 3 port that carries x4 PCIe lanes, so your dock will connect at full bandwidth.

Can the NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4 GB GDDR5 drive my older 1080p monitor over HDMI?

The HDMI 2.0 output on this workstation drives external displays up to 4K at 60 Hz, so a 1080p panel will work without any adapter.

How can I verify the 3840 x 2160 touchscreen and the i9-8950HK are running correctly after first boot?

Open Device Manager to confirm the Intel Core i9-8950HK shows six cores and twelve threads, then run the Dell PremierColor utility to validate the UHD panel’s 72 % colour gamut and touch response.
