Mobile workstation for certified apps

The Dell Precision 7550 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation aimed at engineers and designers who need ISV-certified stability for CAD, rendering and data analysis. A six-core Intel Core i7-10850H, 64 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe SSD provide the throughput those applications expect. The NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with 4 GB of GDDR6 drives the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Upgrade path from consumer laptops

This system replaces consumer-grade notebooks that lack error-correcting memory, certified drivers or a professional GPU. The jump is worth it when your workflow demands guaranteed compatibility with SolidWorks, Revit or similar packages and when 64 GB of memory is the minimum viable configuration. Builders who need more than two Thunderbolt 3 ports or a higher-wattage GPU should look elsewhere.

Check ports power and thermals before ordering

Verify that your docks and monitors match the two Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports, Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 outputs. Confirm the included AC adapter matches the 45 W processor rating and that your carrying case accommodates a 15.6 inch chassis. The SD card reader and dual USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports cover most legacy peripherals.
