Precision 7730 Mobile Workstation

The Dell Precision 7730 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation built for engineers and designers who need certified professional graphics on the move. It pairs an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H six-core processor with an NVIDIA Quadro P3200 GPU carrying 6 GB of GDDR5 memory. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. Dual M.2 storage combines a 256 GB drive with a 1 TB NVMe SSD.

Compatibility Checklist

Verify that your existing peripherals use USB 3.1 Gen 1, Thunderbolt 3 or HDMI 2.0, as these are the only video and data ports provided. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel is non-touch and covers 72 % colour gamut, so confirm this meets your external-display calibration needs. Ensure your software licences support Windows 11 Pro and the Quadro driver branch before deployment.

Who This Suits

Ideal for CAD, BIM and simulation users who require ISV-certified Quadro drivers and a 17.3-inch FHD workspace in a silver chassis. Buyers needing more than 16 GB of RAM or a higher-colour-gamut display should consider other configurations. Teams requiring touchscreen input or a lighter ultraportable form factor will not be served by this model.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop ship with a power adapter or must I buy one separately?

A Dell AC adapter is included in the box, so no separate purchase is required.

Should I choose the 256 GB plus 1 TB dual-drive configuration or a single larger drive?

This unit already provides the dual-drive layout: a 256 GB M.2 drive paired with a 1 TB M.2 drive, giving both a fast boot volume and a large data volume in one machine.

Will the Quadro P3200 with 6 GB GDDR5 handle CAD workloads at 1920 x 1080?

The P3200 is optimised for CAD and performs comparably to a GTX 1060, so it will drive the 17.3" FHD panel at 1920 x 1080 for professional 3D tasks.
