Dell Mini 6-Pin Power Adapter
This cable converts a Dell proprietary mini 6-pin motherboard connector into two standard SATA 15-pin power outputs. It is built for owners of Dell Inspiron desktops such as the 3653, 3650, 3655, 3250, 3252, 3268, 3660, 3667 and 3668 who need to add SATA drives without replacing the PSU.
Dual SATA 15-Pin Outputs
The single mini 6-pin plug feeds two 15-pin SATA connectors, letting you power a pair of devices such as mechanical hard drives, SSDs or a liquid CPU cooler from one motherboard header. An 18 AWG copper conductor with a braided sleeve carries the current, and the total reach is approximately 30 cm plus a 15 cm branch.
Keyed Mini 6-Pin Fit
The mini 6-pin connector is keyed to the Dell board, so it seats in one orientation only — forcing it risks bent pins. The cable does not work with standard ATX 6-pin sockets or with Dell OptiPlex models such as the 3020, 3046, 5040, 7020, 7040, 9020, SFF or T1700, and it cannot draw power directly from a PSU.

Questions about this item
Will the 18AWG conductors or braided sleeve need replacement after long-term use?
The cable uses 18AWG copper conductors with a braided sleeve; it has no moving parts and requires no scheduled maintenance or replacement under normal conditions.
What power limit does the mini 6‑pin motherboard connector impose when two SATA drives run continuously?
The mini 6‑pin ATX 12V connector on the motherboard sets the total current available to both SATA 15‑pin devices, so sustained draw cannot exceed that single‑header rating.
Does the cable generate noticeable heat or noise when powering drives all day?
The passive copper cable produces no noise and only minimal warmth; any heat felt comes from the drives themselves, not the cable.
