PCIe 1X to 16X riser for mining rigs

This six-pack provides PCIe 1X to 16X riser cards designed for building Ethereum mining rigs, from small open-air frames to larger rack-based setups. Each card includes four solid capacitors and multiple voltage regulation components for stable power delivery. An integrated surface-mounted fuse adds overcurrent protection to safeguard connected hardware. The boards fit x1, x4, x8 and x16 PCIe slots and require no driver installation.

Sustained load with USB 3.0 link

A 60 cm USB 3.0 cable links the 1X and 16X ends, allowing flexible GPU placement while maintaining faster data transfer under continuous mining workloads. The riser draws auxiliary power directly from the PSU via integrated Molex 4-pin and two 6-pin PCIe connectors, reducing the power burden on the motherboard. Only one power input should be used at a time to avoid overload. Four mounting holes on the 16X side secure the graphics card for stable long-term operation.

Power interface constraints

The PCB integrates Molex 4-pin, SATA and two 6-pin PCIe power interfaces, but the design permits only a single active connection; plugging in two or three simultaneously is not supported. The USB 3.0 cable carries the signalling between the 1X host slot and the 16X device endpoint, so bandwidth is limited to the 1X electrical width despite the physical 16X connector. Builders needing multiple GPUs per 16X slot or full 16-lane throughput cannot use this adapter for those purposes.
