A 24-inch SATA III data cable with a 90-degree to 180-degree angled latch connector for secure internal drive connections at up to 6.0 Gbps
This 24-inch SATA III cable connects 2.5-inch SSDs and 3.5-inch hard drives to motherboard ports or host controllers. One end is a 90-degree receptacle and the other is a straight 180-degree connector, both with 7-pin keyed sockets. The straight end includes a latch that clicks into place for a secure fit in tight drive cages. Shielded 26 AWG tinned copper conductors carry the signal.
The right-angle plug keeps the cable close to the drive PCB, useful in cramped enclosures or behind backplanes where a straight plug would foul the side panel. It is not for external eSATA brackets or hot-swap bays that require a shielded bulkhead connector. Buyers who need a straight-to-straight layout or a longer run for full-tower routing should look at a different cable.
The cable is rated for SATA revision III at 6.0 Gbps and is backwards compatible with SATA I and II ports. Actual throughput is limited by the slowest device in the link, so a SATA II drive or port will operate at its native speed.

The right-angle end adds about 24 mm beyond the drive's SATA port, so allow at least 25 mm between the drive and the case wall or adjacent card.
Insert the 90-degree end into the drive, then press the straight latch end into the motherboard until it clicks; forcing the latch end first often bends the key.
Swap it if the latch no longer holds, the 26 AWG conductors show kinks, or the UV-red jacket cracks near the 90-degree bend after repeated routing.
