What this splitter does

The ESTONE HDMI698352 takes a single HDMI source and duplicates it to two displays simultaneously. It is built for users who need the same 4K or 1080p image on two screens, such as a living-room TV and a projector, or dual monitors showing identical content. The box includes a 5V/2A power adapter and requires no software setup.

Heat noise and power

A solid metal enclosure passively dissipates heat without any fan, so the unit runs silently in normal use. The supplied 5V/2A adapter powers the splitter and maintains signal integrity over cable runs up to 110 ft total, with 50 ft on the output side and 60 ft on the input side using standard AWG26 HDMI cables.

The resolution limit that matters

Maximum output is 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz; 4K at 60 Hz is not supported. The splitter complies with HDMI 1.4 and HDCP 1.4, so it works with 1080p at 60 Hz and 3D formats, but it cannot pass the higher bandwidth required by HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 sources.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 5V/2A AC adapter and why does the splitter fail if I skip it?

Plug the included 5V/2A AC adapter into the splitter's power port before connecting any HDMI cables. The unit draws power from this adapter, not from the source device, so omitting it leaves the outputs dark.

Will the gold-plated HDMI ports or the metal casing need cleaning or replacement over time?

The gold-plated HDMI female ports resist oxidation and the aluminium casing is passive cooling. No user-serviceable parts exist inside; normal dusting with compressed air is the only maintenance required.

At what cable length does 4K 30 Hz signal loss appear first on the output side?

The manufacturer rates the output run at 60 ft with AWG26 cable. Beyond that distance the 10.2 Gbps bandwidth drops and 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz may fail before 1080p does.
