What it does

The ESTONE HDMI698352 is a 1x2 HDMI splitter that duplicates one HDMI source to two identical displays. It accepts a single HDMI input and drives two HDMI outputs simultaneously, mirroring video and audio without extending the desktop. The unit supports HDMI 1.4 and earlier standards, HDCP 1.4 bypass, and multi-format TV standards including PAL and NTSC variants. It ships with a 5V/2A power adapter and user manual.

The resolution limit that matters

Maximum output resolution is 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz, with 1080p at 60 Hz and 720p at 60 Hz also supported. The device does not support 4K at 60 Hz or HDMI 2.0/2.1 bandwidth. Transmission distance reaches 100 ft using AWG26 cable, split as 40 ft input and 60 ft output. Audio formats include LPCM, Dolby-AC3, DTS7.1, DSD, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD master audio.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

Ideal for users who need to mirror a console, Blu-ray player, streaming stick or PC to two TVs or monitors at 4K 30 Hz or 1080p 60 Hz. Not suitable for anyone requiring 4K 60 Hz output, HDMI 2.0 features, extended desktop mode, or switching between multiple sources. Builders needing longer runs than 100 ft or daisy-chaining beyond the specified distance should consider other solutions.

Questions about this item

What does the 4K x 2K @30 Hz headline resolution mean when the splitter is connected to a TV?

It means the splitter can pass a 3840 x 2160 picture at 30 frames per second to both screens simultaneously; 4K at 60 Hz is not supported.

Which HDMI version does the splitter use and what bandwidth does that limit?

The unit complies with HDMI 1.4, which caps the data rate at 10.2 Gbps and prevents 4K 60 Hz or HDMI 2.0/2.1 features.

How much space and power does the metal enclosure need for installation?

The box measures 3.15 x 1.18 x 2.36 inches, weighs 7.8 ounces and requires the included 5V/2A AC adapter to operate.
