High-Speed Flat Cat 7 Cable

This white Cat 7 Ethernet cable runs 20 metres or 66 feet and supports data rates up to 10000Mbps with a bandwidth of 600MHz. It uses 100 percent bare copper conductors in a shielded SSTP construction and terminates in gold-plated RJ45 connectors with snagless boots. The flat profile makes it easy to route under carpets or along walls without tangling.

Suitable Uses and Limits

The cable suits home and office networks that need 10 Gigabit throughput for gaming, streaming, server access or surveillance. It connects consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation, computers, routers, switches, printers, NAS devices and VoIP phones. Buyers who require longer runs beyond 20 metres or who need round cables for tight conduit bends should consider other options.

Installation Notes

The flexible 32AWG multi-strand design bends readily around corners and slides under flooring. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and the molded strain-relief boots protect the connector latch during repeated insertion. Take care not to kink the flat jacket sharply, as that can deform the twisted pairs and degrade performance.

Questions about this item

What devices do I need that have RJ45 ports to use this 20 m Cat 7 cable?

Any device with a standard RJ45 network port — router, switch, modem, PC, laptop, NAS, printer, VoIP phone, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 or PS4 — will connect directly to the gold-plated RJ45 plugs on this cable.

Will this flat Cat 7 cable work with my existing Cat 5e and Cat 6 patch panels and wall sockets?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A infrastructure, so it plugs into older patch panels, keystone jacks and wall outlets without adapters.

How can I confirm the link is running at the advertised 10 Gbps after I plug it in?

Check the connection status on your router, switch or PC network adapter; it should report a 10 Gbps (10000 Mbps) link speed and the link lights on both ends will typically show the highest negotiated rate.
