Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 845 G8 combines an 8-core Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U processor with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD. A 14.0-inch 1920 x 1080 FHD LED display provides clear visuals for documents and video calls. Integrated Radeon graphics handle everyday workloads without a discrete GPU. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for managed environments.

Thermals and power in typical use

The 1.90 GHz base clock and efficient 5000-series architecture keep heat output modest during office tasks and web browsing. Fan noise remains low when the system runs productivity applications or video playback. Shared system memory for graphics reduces component count and helps contain power draw. The compact chassis dissipates warmth through the aluminum frame during normal operation.

Behaviour under sustained load

Extended multi-threaded workloads such as large compiles or data analysis will push all 16 threads and raise temperatures until the cooling system balances performance and acoustics. Clock speeds adjust dynamically to stay within thermal limits rather than maintaining peak frequency indefinitely. The Grade B cosmetic condition does not affect thermal performance or throttle behaviour. Buyers who need discrete graphics or higher sustained clocks should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD and what step is often missed?

The 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD is already installed in the M.2 slot. If adding a second drive, insert it at an angle, secure the screw, and enable the new drive in Windows Disk Management — the step many skip.

What maintenance or replacement will the 32GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 32GB DDR4 memory is soldered and not user-replaceable. No memory maintenance is required; if a fault occurs the mainboard must be serviced.

What limit appears first on the AMD Radeon Graphics during sustained workloads?

The AMD Radeon Graphics uses shared system memory, so VRAM capacity is the first limit under sustained graphical load.
