Business convertible with 13.3" touchscreen

The HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5 G6 is a 2-in-1 laptop built around a 13.3-inch FHD IPS panel with 1920 x 1080 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass. An 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor runs at 1.7 GHz with Turbo up to 3.6 GHz alongside Intel UHD Graphics 620. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit ships pre-installed on the 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.

Suits mobile professionals needing pen

Workers who value a spill-resistant keyboard with drain design and DuraKeys durability will appreciate the convertible hinge for presentations or tablet use. Buyers who want more storage or user-upgradeable memory should look at something else because the 8 GB DDR42133 RAM is onboard and the single M.2 slot is already occupied.

Straightforward deployment with fixed memory

No RAM slots are accessible so memory cannot be increased after purchase. The 512 GB NVMe drive can be swapped by removing the bottom cover, though the single M.2 slot limits total capacity. Thunderbolt and USB-C ports handle docking and charging without extra adapters.

Questions about this item

Does this laptop need a separate power adapter, or can it charge from a USB-C dock?

It includes two USB-C/Thunderbolt ports and a dedicated USB 3.1 Gen 1 charging connector for power delivery.

Will my older USB-A peripherals work without an adapter?

The spec sheet lists only USB-C/Thunderbolt and a USB 3.1 Gen 1 charging port, so legacy USB-A devices require a dongle.

How do I confirm the touchscreen and 360-degree hinge are functioning after first boot?

Open Windows Settings > Devices > Touchscreen to verify touch input, then fold the display back fully to test tablet mode.
