Indoor Wi-Fi 6 access point with dual 2x2 radios, external antenna connectors and an integrated IoT radio for Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee
The AP-504 is a dual-radio indoor access point built for environments that need Wi-Fi 6 efficiency without internal antennas. It targets IT teams deploying high-density wireless in offices, schools or healthcare sites where external antenna placement improves coverage.
Replacing 802.11ac hardware with this unit lifts aggregate throughput by up to 400 % in dense client scenarios. The jump is worth it when legacy APs cannot serve simultaneous MU-MIMO streams or when OFDMA scheduling is required for latency-sensitive IoT and voice traffic.
Two spatial streams on the 5 GHz band deliver a peak PHY rate of 1.2 Gbps with compatible 2x2 clients, while the 2.4 GHz radio handles legacy and IoT devices. Headroom shrinks when channel width drops below 80 MHz or when client counts exceed the MU-MIMO group limit supported by the 500 Series hardware.

Other versions of this model
The AP-504 includes two RP-SMA connectors for external dual-band antennas and a Kensington security slot; mounting brackets are sold separately.
Connect the RJ-45 port to an 802.3at PoE+ switch for full 16.5 W operation with a USB device; using 802.3af limits USB power to 13.5 W total.
Replace antennas only if physical damage or corrosion degrades the RP-SMA connection; the radios and IoT firmware are updated centrally via Aruba Central.
