510 Series Wi-Fi 6 access point

The HPE Aruba Networking AP-514 is a dual-radio indoor access point built for enterprise environments that need high-density Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. It supports on-premises, cloud and as-a-service management options, giving IT teams flexibility in how they deploy and operate the wireless network.

External antenna connectors and dual Ethernet ports

Four RP-SMA connectors let you attach the external dual-band antennas that suit the coverage pattern of each installation. The wired uplink combines a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port with a 1 Gbps port, while a USB port and a management port provide additional integration options for IoT and out-of-band control.

Ceiling rail or wall mounting with plenum rating

The unit measures 1.8 inches high by 7.9 inches wide and deep and weighs approximately 1.79 lb, so verify that the chosen ceiling tile rail or wall surface can accommodate those dimensions. A UL2043 plenum rating allows placement in air-handling spaces, but confirm local fire-code requirements before mounting. PoE-powered operation means no separate power outlet is needed at the AP location.

Questions about this item

Will the four RP-SMA external antenna connectors need periodic inspection or replacement?

The four RP-SMA connectors are built for the life of the AP-514; no scheduled antenna-port maintenance is required.

Which wired link caps throughput first when the 5 GHz radio runs at 160 MHz channel width?

The 2.5 GbE uplink limits sustained throughput before the 5 GHz radio reaches its 2.69 Gbps peak.

How much heat does the ceiling-mount AP-514 produce when both radios and both Ethernet ports run continuously?

The unit draws up to 30 W via PoE, so all consumed power becomes heat in the plenum space.
