Tri-radio Wi-Fi 6E outdoor access point with internal directional antennas delivering up to 3.6 Gbps combined throughput and integrated Bluetooth and Zigbee radios for IoT services
The HPE Aruba Networking AP-677 S0P55A is an outdoor wireless access point built for the 670 Series. It operates across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands concurrently using 2x2 MIMO. The tri-radio design supports up to 512 associated client devices per radio and 16 BSSIDs per radio, with the 6 GHz radio limited to 8 BSSIDs. It targets deployments that need high-density coverage in open-air environments.
Under continuous demand the AP delivers a maximum combined data rate of 3.6 Gbps across its three radios. The 2.4 GHz radio reaches 574 Mbps with 2SS HE40 802.11ax clients, the 5 GHz radio achieves 1.2 Gbps with 2SS HE80 clients and the 6 GHz radio hits 2.4 Gbps with 2SS HE160 clients. Peak power draw is rated at 45.5 W, so the unit maintains throughput without thermal throttling when powered appropriately.
Built-in directional antennas provide 6.9 dBi gain on 2.4 GHz and 6 GHz, and 6.5 dBi on 5 GHz, focusing energy toward the coverage zone. An integrated omnidirectional BLE/Zigbee antenna adds 4.5 dBi gain for IoT services. Connectivity uses one 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 port with auto-sensing and one SFP fiber port, giving installers copper or fibre backhaul options for outdoor mounting.

Other versions of this model
The AP-677 draws a maximum of 45.5 W, so sustained operation produces heat consistent with that power level; plan airflow around the mounting location accordingly.
You need an Ethernet cable for the 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 port and an SFP module with fibre patch cord if using the SFP port, plus a PoE source capable of delivering 45.5 W (Class 6).
Yes, the tri-radio design runs 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz concurrently, each with 2x2 MIMO, so older clients stay connected on their bands while 6E devices use the 6 GHz radio.
