It is built for installers and home-theatre owners who need to show the same content on multiple screens without swapping cables. The unit includes an external power supply and operates purely as a passive distribution device.

HDMI 1.4b bandwidth ceiling

The splitter conforms to HDMI 1.4b with a maximum bandwidth of 225 MHz. That version caps the highest supported resolution at 1920 x 1020, 1080p, 2K x 4K or 2160p depending on the source timing. Any source demanding higher bandwidth or newer HDMI features will not pass through this device.

Resolution headroom and limits

Supported HDMI timings include 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, plus the 1920 x 1020, 1080p, 2K x 4K and 2160p modes listed in the spec. DVI signals at 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p are also accepted. Content requiring refresh rates or colour depths beyond the 225 MHz limit will fall back or fail.
