Gaming laptop with 14-core i7 and RTX 5050

The Lenovo LOQ 15 is a 15.6 inch Windows 11 gaming laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-13650HX 14-core processor. It ships with 16GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. The 144Hz FHD display and GeForce RTX 5050 8GB GDDR7 GPU target gamers who want high frame rates in a portable chassis.

RTX 5050 8GB GDDR7 graphics

The single specification that decides fit is the GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR7 video memory. This discrete card drives the 1920 x 1080 144Hz panel at high refresh rates in modern titles. Buyers who need more video memory for 4K textures or heavy creative workloads should look elsewhere.

Ports and connectivity for a complete setup

One USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port handles 10Gbps data, Power Delivery and DisplayPort 2.1 output. Three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports add 5Gbps peripheral connections. HDMI 2.1, a combo audio jack and the rectangle power jack round out physical I/O. Realtek RTL8852BE Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 provide wireless networking without extra dongles.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.9 GHz turbo speed mean for everyday gaming on the i7-13650HX?

The 14-core processor can boost up to 4.9 GHz when thermal headroom allows, giving short bursts of high single-thread speed for game logic and asset streaming while the 20 threads handle background tasks.

What does the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port actually deliver in practice?

The single Type-C port runs at 10 Gbps and supports Power Delivery and DisplayPort output, so it can drive an external monitor and charge compatible devices simultaneously.

Will the 0.94 inch thickness fit in a standard 15.6 inch laptop sleeve?

At 0.94 inches thick and 14.17 by 10.19 inches footprint, the chassis matches typical 15.6 inch sleeve dimensions, though rigid corners may need a slightly generous fit.
