65 ft Toslink Optical Audio Cable

The LUOM T001A is a 65 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable with male-to-male connectors. It carries uncompressed PCM audio and compressed 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 surround formats such as Dolby AC-3 and DTS. The cable uses a fibre core with a 2.2 mm and 5.0 mm outer diameter.

Home-theatre owners needing a long optical link

Buyers connecting sound bars, TVs, PS4, Xbox or home-theatre receivers with Toslink ports can use this cable. Installers who need a different digital audio interface or a shorter run should look at other options.

65 ft length for extended runs

The 65 ft length is the key specification that determines whether this cable reaches between separated components. Shorter or longer distances require a different cable length.

Questions about this item

What devices must already have Toslink ports for this 65 ft cable to connect them?

Both source and destination need a square Toslink (S/PDIF) port — typical on sound bars, TVs, PS4, Xbox, home-theatre receivers, DVD players, set-top boxes, DACs and similar audio gear.

Will the gold-plated male plugs on this 65 ft cable mate reliably with older Toslink equipment that uses plastic connectors?

Yes, the precision square connectors are standard Toslink; gold plating resists corrosion and fits legacy plastic ports without signal loss.

After plugging in the 65 ft cable, how can I confirm Dolby Digital Plus or DTS-HD 5.1 to 7.1 audio is passing through correctly?

Play multi-channel content and verify the receiver or sound bar displays the matching Dolby or DTS indicator and all speaker channels produce sound.
