65-foot Toslink cable for home theater

The LUOM T001A is a 65 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable designed to carry multi-channel surround formats such as Dolby AC-3 and DTS. Male-to-male gold-plated connectors link sound bars, TVs, consoles and AV receivers over longer runs.

Optical SPDIF limits signal distance

Toslink uses light pulses through a polymer fibre core, so electrical interference is eliminated but attenuation increases with length. The 65 ft span suits typical living-room layouts yet approaches the practical ceiling where jitter or dropout can appear on some source equipment.

Gold-plated metal tips and braided jacket

Connectors feature 24K gold plating on a metal shell for corrosion resistance and a secure click fit. A double-braided nylon sleeve over a flexible PVC jacket protects the 2.2/5.0 mm fibre from kinks during routing behind cabinets or along baseboards.

Questions about this item

What length should I choose for my setup?

The cable is supplied in a single 65 ft length, so choose it when your source and sink are up to that distance apart.

What audio formats will I actually hear through this cable?

It carries uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 surround such as Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD, ADAT and LPCM for clear multi-channel sound.

What does the Toslink interface limit in practice?

The square S/PDIF optical port caps the link to short-range digital audio; the 24K gold-plated male-to-male connectors and 2.2/5.0 mm fibre keep loss low within that limit.
