8-Channel 12MP PoE NVR Kit

This Reolink system bundles a network video recorder with four dome cameras, each capturing 12-megapixel footage. Power-over-Ethernet delivers power and data through a single cable per camera, simplifying installation for homes or small businesses. The included 2TB hard drive supports continuous 24/7 recording across all active channels.

PoE Cabling and Storage Limits

Each camera connects via an RJ45 port on the NVR, so the maximum run is the standard Ethernet distance unless repeaters are added. The recorder accepts up to 12TB total storage, leaving room to expand beyond the supplied 2TB drive. H.265 compression reduces bandwidth and disk usage compared with older codecs.

Pre-Installation Checklist

Verify that you can route Ethernet cables from the NVR location to every camera mounting point. Confirm the NVR’s eight PoE ports match the number of cameras you plan to deploy now and later. Ensure a monitor or network device is available for initial configuration and ongoing playback.

Questions about this item

Should I choose a 4-camera kit or add more cameras up to the 8-channel limit?

The NVR supports up to 8 channels and comes with 4 dome cameras, so you can start with the bundled four and expand later with compatible Reolink IP cameras.

What does the 12MP resolution mean for recorded footage?

Each camera records at 12 megapixels, capturing fine detail such as faces or licence plates across the monitored area.

How does the PoE RJ45 connection affect installation and power?

PoE delivers both data and power over a single Ethernet cable to each camera, simplifying cabling and removing the need for separate power adapters.
