Adds seven USB 3.0 ports with dual NEC720201 and VL812 chips and a 15Pin SATA power connector for stable 5Gbps transfers
This SMUGDESK expansion card adds seven USB 3.0 ports to a desktop computer through a single PCIe slot. Dual NEC720201 and VL812 controllers manage the traffic for reliable throughput. The board draws auxiliary power from a standard 15-pin SATA connector so attached devices receive stable current. It fits any PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot on Intel or AMD motherboards.
The card has no active cooling, so it runs completely silent inside the case. Power draw stays modest because the controllers are efficient and the SATA feed only activates when peripherals demand it. Typical office workloads such as file transfers, backups and peripheral charging produce negligible temperature rise. Backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices adds flexibility without extra overhead.
During long copy sessions the dual-chip architecture maintains the advertised 5 Gbps link speed without throttling. The dedicated SATA power rail prevents voltage sag when multiple high-draw drives spin up simultaneously. Driver support across Windows and most Linux distributions keeps the pipeline stable for hours. The card is not suited for builds that require internal headers or external bracket ports beyond the seven rear-facing connectors.

Insert the card into any PCIe X1/X4/X8/X16 slot on your Intel or AMD motherboard, then plug a 15Pin SATA power connector from your PSU into the card's power port before turning the system on.
The card itself has no moving parts or user-serviceable components; keep the PCIe slot and SATA power connector free of dust, and replace the card only if a port fails or the chipset becomes unstable.
The single PCIe X1 host link and the shared VL812 hub bandwidth become the bottleneck before the individual 5Gbps port rating is reached.
