Green PCI expansion card with two SATA ports and silver bracket

SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK PCI 2-Port SATA Adapter Sil3112 1.5Gbps

SKU CH-RXBT-7P26M

Adds two independent SATA ports via a single PCI slot using the Sil3112 chip for 1.5Gbps drives on legacy desktops

  • Adds two SATA ports through a single PCI slot
  • Sil3112 chip delivers stable 1.5 Gbps SATA throughput
  • Standard PCI interface fits legacy desktop motherboards
  • Hot-plug support simplifies drive swaps and backups
  • Compatible with Windows and Linux for older PC upgrades

Legacy Storage Expansion

The SMUGDESK PCI adapter adds two SATA ports to a desktop that has a free PCI slot, letting you connect HDDs or SSDs when onboard headers are full or missing. It targets owners of older systems who need extra drive bays for backups or capacity upgrades without replacing the motherboard.

Build and Connectivity

A single legacy PCI bracket carries the Sil3112 chip and delivers two independent SATA connectors running at 1.5 Gbps each. The board fits standard PCI slots found on vintage desktops, and the controller supports hot-plug operation so drives can be swapped for data recovery or rotation without powering down the machine.

Upgrade Context

This card replaces the need for a USB-to-SATA bridge when internal bandwidth and boot capability matter, and it upgrades a system that has no spare onboard SATA ports. The jump is worthwhile when you must boot from an added SATA drive or when hot-plug convenience outweighs the 1.5 Gbps ceiling, but it will not serve builds that require faster modern interfaces.
