Indoor Wi-Fi 6 access point with dual-band 2x2 MIMO, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, 1 GbE PoE+ port, cloud management via Sophos Central, and one year of support included
Model AP6 420
Model 1-Year Support
The Sophos AP6 420 is an indoor wireless access point built for Wi-Fi 6 networks. It operates on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with a 2x2:2 MIMO configuration. Management is handled through Sophos Central or a local web interface. A one-year support subscription is included, enabling cloud management, firmware updates and advanced replacement service. The unit mounts on a desk, wall or ceiling and connects via a single Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE+.
This access point targets general-purpose, low-to-medium density environments such as retail stores, smaller schools and small-to-medium offices. It supports up to 16 SSIDs across its two radios for network segmentation. Buyers needing 6 GHz band support or higher spatial streams for dense deployments should consider other models. The included support covers one access point only; additional units require separate subscriptions.
The AP6 420 provides one 1 GbE port that accepts 802.3at PoE+ power, drawing a maximum of 17 W. A compatible PoE+ injector or switch must be sourced separately if not already present in the infrastructure. The port also serves as the sole wired uplink for both radio bands. Verify that your cabling and power budget meet the 30 W per port requirement before deployment.

Other versions of this model
The access point requires 802.3at PoE+ delivering up to 30 W per port; max draw is 17 W.
Yes, the dual radios support 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax on both bands, so legacy and Wi-Fi 6 devices associate normally.
Check the LED status indicators and verify the device appears online in Sophos Central once the support subscription is activated.
