Western Digital My Passport 1TB USB 3.2 Gen 1

The Western Digital My Passport WDBYVG0010BBK-WESN is a 1TB portable hard drive in a slim 2.5" form factor. It connects via a SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface and remains compatible with USB 2.0 ports. The drive comes formatted NTFS for Windows 10 and 8.1 and includes WD Discovery software for backup, password protection and drive management. Built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption secures data with a personal password.

Check your system and ports before ordering

The drive ships formatted NTFS for Windows 10 and 8.1, so reformatting will be required for macOS or other operating systems. Verify that your device provides a USB Type-A port or that you have a suitable adapter for the included SuperSpeed USB cable. WD Backup software and password protection features are supported on Windows only, so plan accordingly if you use a different platform.

Fits in a bag and frees up internal space

The slim enclosure measures .44 x 2.95 x 4.22 inches and weighs .27 lb, making it easy to carry alongside a laptop. Because it draws power over the USB connection, no external power adapter is needed, leaving wall outlets free. Automatic backup scheduling lets you protect photos, videos, music and documents without occupying internal drive bays or expansion slots.
