Dell 13th Gen Server Kit

This 512GB kit contains eight 64GB DDR4 2133MHz modules built for Dell PowerEdge 13th generation rack servers. It targets administrators expanding memory in R430, R530, R630, R630 XL, R730, R730 XL, R730xd, R730xd XL, R830 or R930 platforms. The modules are ECC load-reduced DIMMs and will not work in desktops, laptops or systems that require unbuffered non-ECC memory.

4Rx4 Quad-Rank Organization

Each module uses a 4Rx4 layout, placing four ranks of x4 chips on a single 288-pin PCB. This rank density is the specification that determines whether the server’s memory controller can address the full 512GB capacity. Mixing these LRDIMMs with registered DIMMs is not supported; all installed modules must share the same ECC type.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Operating at 1.20V with CL15 latency, the kit runs at the speed of the slowest module installed, so consistent throughput depends on uniform population across channels. Load-reduced buffering reduces electrical load on the memory bus, helping maintain signal integrity when all eight slots are populated under continuous multi-threaded workloads.

Questions about this item

How much total memory does the 512GB kit add to a Dell PowerEdge R730?

The kit installs eight 64GB modules, giving a full 512GB of DDR4 2133MHz ECC LRDIMM capacity across the server's memory slots.

What does the DDR4 2133 PC4-17000 rating mean for bandwidth on a 13th Gen PowerEdge?

PC4-17000 specifies a peak transfer rate of 17000 MB/s per module; the server's memory controller will run all installed DIMMs at 2133MHz, matching this spec.

Will these 288-pin LRDIMMs fit the R630 XL's memory slots without a heat spreader?

Yes, each module uses the standard 288-pin DDR4 DIMM form factor with no heat spreader, so it seats directly in the R630 XL's registered DIMM slots.
