System overview

This ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 is a new gaming desktop PC built around an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 16-core processor running at 4.7GHz and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card with 12GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 64GB DDR5 RAM, a 2TB NVMe SSD plus a 2TB SATA III HDD, an 850W power supply, 360mm liquid cooling and Windows 11 Home pre-installed. It targets players who want a ready-to-play system for high-refresh 1440p or entry 4K gaming. ||

Compatibility check

Verify that your display provides the inputs required by the RTX 5070, typically DisplayPort or HDMI, and that your desk space accommodates a full-tower chassis. Ensure your mains outlet can deliver sufficient power for the 850W unit and that you have a stable internet connection for the initial Windows 11 setup and driver updates. Buyers who need a smaller footprint or a lower power draw should consider other form factors. ||

Bundled value

Windows 11 Home is pre-activated so the machine boots straight to the desktop without extra licence steps. The 360mm liquid cooler keeps the 16-core CPU at stable temperatures during extended sessions. The dual-drive layout gives a fast NVMe volume for the operating system and key titles while the 2TB HDD stores larger media libraries. Component brands may vary from the images shown.

Questions about this item

Does the ROG Strix Helios GX601 ship with Windows 11 already installed or do I need to buy a licence separately?

Windows 11 Home comes pre-installed and activated, so no separate licence purchase is required.

The spec lists 64 GB DDR5 across four slots — are all slots populated or is there room to add more later?

All four DDR5 slots are filled to reach the 64 GB total, so any future upgrade would mean replacing existing modules.

With the Ryzen 7 9800X3D running at 4.7 GHz and the RTX 5070, what sort of frame rates can I expect in 1440p games?

The 16-core CPU and 12 GB GDDR7 GPU deliver high frame rates at 1440p in modern titles, though exact numbers vary by game and settings.
