Built for harsh environments

The DELL Latitude 5424 Rugged is a 14.0-inch laptop constructed with specialised materials and a chassis tested to military-grade standards. It is designed for professionals who work in extreme temperatures, vibration, dust or direct sunlight and need a device that survives where standard notebooks fail.

Upgrading from fragile portables

This unit replaces conventional business laptops that cannot withstand drops, spills or outdoor glare. The jump is worth it when field service, utilities, public safety or industrial crews need a non-touch FHD panel readable in bright daylight and a sealed design qualified through rigorous test-to-failure methodology.

Dual-drive flexibility in the field

A 128GB M.2 drive paired with a 1TB M.2 drive lets the operating system boot quickly while keeping large project files local. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 display and external monitors via HDMI or DisplayPort, while USB 3.0, USB Type-C, serial and RJ-45 ports connect legacy and modern peripherals without adapters.

Questions about this item

What screw spacing does the 14.0-inch chassis use for vehicle-mount brackets?

The Latitude 5424 Rugged uses Dell’s standard rugged mounting pattern; consult the accessory guide for the exact hole centres before drilling.

Which BIOS setting must be enabled so the 128 GB M.2 drive appears as the boot device?

Set the M.2 slot to UEFI mode and move it to the top of the boot order; the installer will then recognise the 128 GB drive.

How often should the keyboard seals be inspected on a 5424 used daily in dusty conditions?

Check the seals every six months and replace the gasket kit if any compression loss is visible to maintain the ingress rating.
