Connectivity for mobile work

The black chassis includes USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type C connector, HDMI, DisplayPort, a serial port, and RJ-45 for wired networks. Wireless options cover Wi-Fi, LTE 4G, and dedicated GPS, though WWAN may not be included. Internal 6- and 9-cell battery packs support all-day shifts, with an optional hot-swap bridge battery available.

Quad-core performance with dual storage

Questions about this item

What USB standard do the USB 3.0 ports on the Latitude 5424 use, and what transfer speed does that cap at?

The laptop provides USB 3.0 ports, which are limited to a 5 Gbps signalling rate in practice.

What are the physical dimensions and weight of the Latitude 5424 so I can check if it fits my bag or mount?

The chassis measures 14.0 inches diagonally and is built to military-grade rugged specifications for harsh environments.

How do I install the 128GB M.2 and 1TB M.2 SSDs in the dual-drive slots, and which step do people usually get wrong?

Both M.2 drives slot into dedicated internal sockets; the common mistake is not securing each drive with its retention screw before reassembling the rugged casing.
