Rugged 14 field laptop

The Dell Latitude 5424 is a military-grade 14.0-inch notebook built for harsh environments with a toughened chassis and direct-view display. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SSD. The 10-point touchscreen works with gloves and stays readable in direct sunlight for mobile professionals.

Check ports and power first

Verify your peripherals match the available USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, serial port and RJ-45 Ethernet before ordering. Confirm the included Dell OEM charger suits your regional mains supply. Wireless options list Wi-Fi, LTE 4G and dedicated GPS though WWAN may not be fitted, so plan connectivity accordingly.

Sealed chassis with hot-swap battery

The rugged construction uses specialised materials and test-to-failure qualification to withstand dust, vibration and temperature extremes. Internal 6- and 9-cell packs support all-day shifts, while an optional hot-swap bridge battery lets you change power without shutting down. Glove-friendly touchscreen and outdoor-readable brightness mean the device stays usable in rain, dust or bright sun.
