Rugged 14 build for field work

The DELL Latitude 5424 is a 14.0 inch laptop designed to military-grade durability standards for harsh environments. Its toughened chassis and component qualification suit professionals who work outdoors or in industrial settings. The 10-point touchscreen operates with gloves on, and the direct-view display remains readable in direct sunlight.

Quad-core i7-8650U with 8 GB DDR4

An 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U processor with four cores and 8 MB cache reaches 4.20 GHz for responsive office and web workloads. 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SSD provide enough headroom for typical business applications and local file storage. Demanding creative suites or large datasets will exhaust both memory capacity and storage space quickly.

MIL-STD chassis with versatile I/O

The ruggedised frame withstands drops, vibration, dust and moisture, letting you carry the device without a protective case. Connectivity includes USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, a serial port and RJ-45 for legacy and modern peripherals. Optional hot-swap bridge batteries extend shift life without shutting down.

Questions about this item

Will my existing USB 3.0 and HDMI peripherals connect directly to the Latitude 5424?

The laptop provides USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, an HDMI output and a DisplayPort so current cables and monitors plug in without adapters.

How can I verify the i7-8650U is hitting its 4.20 GHz turbo after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab and watch the CPU frequency climb to 4.20 GHz when a heavy single-thread load is applied.

Does the box include the Dell OEM charger and is anything else required to start working?

The Dell OEM charger is supplied; Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed, so only personal accounts and software need adding.
