Built for business mobility

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch touchscreen ultrabook designed for professionals who need a durable, portable Windows 11 Pro machine. Its quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor and 16 GB of DDR4 memory handle office suites, video calls and light creative workloads without slowing down.

Thermals and power in daily use

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 keeps heat output modest during typical document and browser work, so the chassis stays comfortable on a lap or desk. Fan noise remains low under normal productivity loads, and the 128 GB SSD draws minimal power to extend time away from a socket.

Ports and expandability

Three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one with PowerShare, plus a USB Type-C connection with DisplayPort output let you attach peripherals and external displays without dongles. HDMI, VGA, RJ45, an SD slot and an optional SIM tray cover legacy and mobile needs, while the Noble wedge lock slot adds physical security.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 128 GB SSD in the Latitude 5590, and which step is most often missed?

Remove the base cover, insert the drive into the M.2 slot at an angle, then secure it with the single screw; the step most people miss is re-enabling the drive in the BIOS before Windows will see it.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The memory is soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded or replaced; the only maintenance is keeping the cooling vents clear so the i7-8650U does not throttle under load.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the Intel UHD Graphics 620?

Thermal throttling of the quad-core i7-8650U kicks in before the integrated GPU hits its own ceiling, dropping clock speeds to stay within the 15 W envelope.
