Purpose-built Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6 inch Full HD laptop powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and combines a 256 GB M.2 drive with a 1 TB secondary SSD for ample local storage. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks without a discrete GPU.

Build integration

A single USB Type-C port provides DisplayPort output while three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports connect peripherals, one supporting PowerShare charging. HDMI and VGA ports drive external monitors and the RJ45 jack adds wired networking. An SD card slot and optional SIM tray expand removable media and mobile broadband options. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth handle wireless connectivity.

Upgrade path

This configuration replaces a system limited to 8 GB RAM or a single smaller drive, delivering 32 GB memory and dual solid-state storage in one step. The jump is worth it when multitasking across virtual machines, large spreadsheets or development environments that exceed typical ultraportable limits. Buyers needing discrete graphics or Thunderbolt-certified docking should consider other platforms.
