Questions about this item

How do I add a second M.2 drive to the Latitude 5590, and which step do people miss?

Remove the base cover, insert the 2280 drive into the open M.2 slot, then secure it with the retention screw; the screw is the part most often dropped.

Which component in this Latitude 5590 will need replacement first, and when?

The 16 GB DDR4 memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded; the 256 GB and 1 TB SSDs are the only user-replaceable parts and typically last several years.

What thermal limit appears first on the i7-8650U during a long compile job?

The quad-core 1.90 GHz processor with 8 MB cache will hit its 4.20 GHz turbo ceiling, then throttle to maintain temperature under sustained load.
