Dell Latitude 7490 business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with a 4.20 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8GB of memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 FHD touchscreen runs Windows 10 Pro out of the box.

Suited for mobile professionals needing touch input

This configuration suits professionals who value a responsive touchscreen for presentations or direct manipulation while travelling light at 1.4 kg. The integrated graphics and 8GB memory limit buyers who need discrete GPU performance or larger memory capacity for heavy creative workloads.

512GB SSD and 8GB RAM capacity

The 512GB drive provides ample space for operating system, applications and active project files with fast access speeds. The 8GB memory handles typical office multitasking and web browsing comfortably but runs out when running multiple virtual machines or large datasets simultaneously.

Questions about this item

What power adapter is needed to charge the USB Type-C port on this Latitude 7490?

The laptop includes an AC power connector; the USB Type-C port supports data and video but charging requires the supplied barrel adapter.

Will my existing USB 3.0 flash drives work at full speed with the three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports?

Yes, USB 3.1 Gen 1 runs at the same 5 Gbit/s rate as USB 3.0, so current drives operate at their rated speed.

Open Settings > System > Display and confirm the resolution shows 1920 x 1080, then tap the screen to test touch response.
