Ready-to-work business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 ships as a new 14.0 inch device with Windows 10 Pro installed. An Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor reaches 4.20 GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen gigabytes of memory and a 256GB SSD handle daily workloads. The 1920 x 1080 FHD touchscreen adds direct input for presentations and markup.

Ports and expansion for desk or travel

Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, HDMI and RJ45 connect monitors, networks and peripherals without adapters. A uSD card slot and uSIM tray support mobile data and extra storage. The Noble Wedge lock slot secures the chassis in shared spaces. An audio combo jack handles headset calls.

Thin chassis with integrated graphics

The system relies on integrated graphics, so 3D rendering and heavy video export are not its strength. Height ranges from .69 to .70 inch and weight starts at 1.4 kg, making it light enough for all-day carry. Wireless 802.11ac keeps the connection stable in typical office environments.

Questions about this item

How long will the 256GB SSD last before it fills up under heavy daily use?

The 256GB SSD capacity is fixed; actual fill rate depends on the files and applications you store, so no single time limit can be given.

Does the integrated graphics chip run hot or loud when the laptop is used all day?

The system uses integrated graphics only; fan noise and surface temperature will vary with workload and ambient conditions.

Which dock or port replicator is required to connect dual monitors and wired LAN at a desk?

The laptop provides HDMI, USB Type‑C, RJ45 and USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports; a compatible dock such as the Dell Business Dock WD15 can expand those connections.
