Compact business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch non-touch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with a 4.20 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD running Windows 10 Pro. The 1920 x 1080 FHD display and integrated graphics suit office applications and video calls on the move.

Upgrade from dual-core or spinning-disk machines

Replacing a dual-core ultrabook or a hard-drive model removes the bottleneck in multitasking and large-file handling. The four cores and solid-state storage make the jump worthwhile when daily work involves virtual machines, heavy spreadsheets or simultaneous collaboration tools. Buyers who need discrete graphics for rendering or gaming will not find that capability here.

Check power connector and dock compatibility

The barrel-style AC adapter and the USB Type-C port handle charging and video output; verify that your existing dock or monitor cables match these interfaces. The chassis measures 13.03 inches wide by 8.7 inches deep with a height between 0.69 and 0.70 inches and weighs 3.11 lbs. Confirm bag sleeve dimensions and desk space before ordering.
