Dell OptiPlex 9020 Mini Tower desktop

This Dell OptiPlex 9020 Mini Tower desktop is built around a 4th Gen Intel Core i7-4770 quad-core processor running at 3.40 GHz with 3.90 GHz turbo. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 UDIMM RAM and a dual-drive layout pairing a 128 GB SSD with a 3.5-inch 2 TB hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included.

Upgrading from an older hard-drive-only system

The 128 GB SSD replaces a mechanical boot drive and cuts Windows start-up and application launch times dramatically. The 2 TB secondary drive keeps bulk files local without relying on external storage. The jump is worth it when daily workflows stall on slow boot sequences or when a single drive forces constant space management.

Practical limits of the DDR3 platform

DDR3 memory caps the platform at 32 GB total across four 240-pin slots so heavy virtualization or large dataset work will hit a ceiling. Integrated Intel Graphics 4600 handles office display output but lacks dedicated video memory for modern 3D workloads. Gigabit Ethernet tops wired throughput at 1 Gbps and the 16X DVD±RW covers legacy optical media only.
