Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor, 32GB DDR4 memory and an NVIDIA Quadro P2000 GPU with 4GB GDDR5. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and dual storage comprising a 256GB M.2 drive plus a 2TB SSD. A 1920 x 1080 IPS display, Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 complete the package.

Suited for ISV-certified workflows

Engineers and designers running certified CAD, CAE or media applications will benefit from the Quadro driver stack and the hexa-core CPU. Buyers who need a larger colour gamut than the 72% panel provides, or who require more than 32GB of memory, should consider other configurations. The non-touch screen also rules out pen-based workflows.

Quadro P2000 with 4GB GDDR5

The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics card with 4GB GDDR5 is the specification that determines whether this laptop fits a professional visual-computing workload. It delivers ISV-certified drivers for major design and simulation packages while fitting inside the 15.6-inch chassis. Buyers whose applications demand more video memory must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the Thunderbolt 3 port and HDMI 2.0 output work with my existing monitors and docking station?

Yes, the laptop provides one Thunderbolt 3 port with x4 PCIe lanes and one HDMI 2.0 port, so you can connect current displays or a dock using either interface.

How can I verify the i9-8950HK and Quadro P2000 are running at full performance after I set up Windows 11 Pro?

Open Task Manager to confirm the 6-core processor reaches up to 4.80 GHz under load and that the dedicated GPU shows 4 GB GDDR5 memory allocated.

Does the box include the AC adapter, and do I need to buy any storage or memory upgrades separately?

The Dell AC adapter is included, 32 GB DDR4 RAM is already installed, and the dual-drive configuration of 256 GB M.2 plus 2 TB SSD is pre-fitted, so no extra parts are required.
