14-inch Touchscreen Ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a 14.0-inch FHD touchscreen laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor at 1.6GHz with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro and includes Intel UHD Graphics 620 for integrated visual output. The chassis weighs approximately 3.6 lbs and measures 13.25 x 9.15 x 0.78 inches.

Upgrade from dual-core or HDD systems

This unit replaces older dual-core ultrabooks or hard-drive laptops where slow boot times and limited multitasking hinder daily office work. The jump is worth it when you need four cores, 1TB of solid-state storage, and a 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen for precise input. It also adds USB 3.1, USB-C, HDMI, and RJ-45 Ethernet in a compact 0.78-inch profile.

1TB SSD and 8GB RAM headroom

The 1TB SSD comfortably handles large document libraries, local databases, and offline media caches without external drives. 8GB of DDR4 memory supports typical business multitasking across browser tabs, video calls, and productivity suites. Headroom runs out with heavy virtual machines, large creative project files, or sustained compile workloads that demand more than integrated graphics and quad-core throughput.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions and weight of the T480 chassis?

The T480 measures 13.25" x 9.15" x .78" and weighs approximately 3.6 lbs.

Which screws and cables must be disconnected to reach the M.2 SSD slot, and which step is commonly missed?

Remove the bottom cover screws, detach the battery connector first, then unscrew the M.2 retention screw; skipping the battery disconnect risks a short circuit.

When will the 45W or 65W AC adapter typically need replacement?

Replace the adapter if the barrel connector becomes loose, the cable frays near the brick, or the laptop no longer charges while powered on.
