What the product is

The LUOM LD240W is a magnetic USB-C gender changer that converts a straight port into a 90-degree connection while preserving full USB4 bandwidth and 240 W power delivery. It ships as a pair of adapters with cord straps for cable management.

The spec that decides fit

The adapter carries 24 gold-plated pins rated for 40 Gbps data and 240 W charging, so it only works when both host and cable support USB4 or Thunderbolt at those speeds and power levels. Buyers whose devices negotiate lower USB standards will not see the advertised throughput or wattage.

Behaviour under sustained load

The magnetic latch releases instantly if the cable is pulled, preventing the host from being dragged off a desk during long transfers or charging sessions. LED indicators stay lit while the link is active, confirming that the high-power and high-speed connection remains stable over extended use.

Questions about this item

What does 240W charging mean when this adapter is plugged into a laptop?

It allows up to 240W power delivery when paired with a compatible 240W USB-C charger and cable, supporting 5V/3A to 48V/5A profiles for rapid charging of high-power laptops.

How does the 40Gbps USB 4 rating translate to real file transfers?

The adapter meets the USB 4 standard at 40Gbps, enabling fast transfers of large files such as HD movies when connected between USB 4 or Thunderbolt 3/4 ports and cables.

What physical space does the 90° magnetic design need to fit?

The right-angle magnetic connector sits flush against the port, requiring only the depth of the adapter itself plus cable clearance, and includes two cord straps for tidy routing.
