LUOM T001A Toslink Optical Cable

The LUOM T001A is a 16 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable designed for connecting sound bars, TVs, game consoles and home-theatre receivers. It carries uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 surround sound formats including Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD. The male-to-male connectors fit standard S/PDIF ports on a wide range of consumer electronics.

Gold-Plated Connectors and Nylon Braid

The cable features 24K gold-plated terminals that resist tarnish and maintain conductivity over time. A double-braided nylon jacket protects the fibre core from kinks and abrasion during routing. Precision-moulded square connectors ensure correct insertion angle and a secure fit without wobble.

Fibre Core with Aluminium Alloy Shell

The optical core is shielded by an aluminium alloy layer beneath the nylon braid, giving an outer diameter of 2.2/5.0 mm for durability in tight spaces. The flexible PVC inner jacket safeguards the lens when the cable is unplugged. This construction suits fixed installations behind furniture or equipment racks where the cable remains in place.

Questions about this item

Does the 24 K gold-plated Toslink connector need any cleaning or replacement over time?

The gold-plated connectors resist tarnish and corrosion, so they do not require periodic cleaning or replacement under normal use.

What limits the cable's performance on very long runs?

At 16 ft the cable stays well within typical Toslink distance limits, so signal loss is not a practical concern for this length.

Does the nylon-braided jacket make the cable run hot or draw extra power during all-day playback?

Optical fibre carries light, not electricity, so the cable generates no heat and consumes no power regardless of how long it is used.
