Ready-to-game desktop for 1440p enthusiasts

The Velztorm Pilum arrives with a 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen 7 3700X eight-core processor, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 with 8 GB of GDDR6 handles modern titles at high settings. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed so the system is ready to play out of the box.

Compact chassis with liquid cooling and front I/O

A black desktop tower houses a 120 mm AIO liquid CPU cooler with RGB lighting, keeping the 3.6 GHz chip running cool under load. The 750 W power supply feeds every component. Front-panel ports include USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C, USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A, five USB 3.0 Type-A and four USB 2.0 sockets plus headphone and microphone jacks.

Wireless convenience and display flexibility

Built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi and an Ethernet LAN jack give two ways to get online without extra adapters. The graphics card provides one HDMI and one DisplayPort output for single or dual-monitor setups. No optical drive is fitted, so physical media users will need an external drive.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation does the RTX 3070 use, and what throughput does that cap at?

The graphics card runs on PCIe 4.0, so its link bandwidth is limited to the 4.0 x16 ceiling of roughly 32 GB/s in each direction.

What clearance and power connectors does the 750 W supply need for the RTX 3070 and 120 mm AIO cooler?

The case must fit a dual-slot card up to the length of the RTX 3070 and have room for a 120 mm radiator; the PSU must provide at least one 8-pin (or 6+2-pin) PCIe power cable for the GPU.

How is Windows 10 Pro activated after the technician opens the box for the SSD and RAM upgrades?

The system ships with a digital licence tied to the motherboard; on first boot Windows activates automatically over the internet with no key entry required.
